I went for a ride today on my bike I left the Blue Mountains to Oberon, and it was the worst possible trip at first because I cant remember when I have seen heavier fog than this morning, it was so bad that I had ridden right past Hampton without knowing it. It took me more than an hour to travel forty four k's. It started to clear up though once I had turned on to the Duckmaloi Road. I filled up the tank at Oberon then rode on to Taralga then to Goulburn where I filled up again both times at a Caltex which might make you wonder why there was nineteen cents difference. From Goulburn I rode to Crookwell and then back to Taralga, where I visited the two pubs in town then rode home vis Shooters Hill.
TARALGA HOTEL

ACCOMMODATION:- YES
ATM:- I didn't see one.
BISTRO:- Yes: Lunch and dinners seven days a week , the lunches seem to be up to twelve dollars and the dinners around twenty five dollars and looked to be the usual pub meal I had an egg and bacon roll with chips and gravy which cost me $9.50. The meal sizes seemed fair and they also served pizzas
There was a dining room and a bistro area and it looked as if there were a couple of single table rooms which I suppose could have been used for private bookings.
There were a couple of tables out the front and maybe one at the back, but I didnt see a beer gardeb as such.
This pub was quite busy on the Friday afternoon I was there and might be the more popular of the two pubs in town.
The toilets where what you might expect put still good be improved.

THE ARGYLE INN TARALGA

ACCOMODATION;- YES, They have an accommodation deal which includes breakfast dinner and a hamper 1$ extra and stay two nights or the usual overnight stay. The Argyle calls itself motorbike friendly and says there is covered lock up bike space.
ATM: No but there was eftpos.
BISTRO: Yes Meals available, I didn't eat here but from what I could see from the menu the food was usual pub meals averaging around fifteen dollars. They do a Monster Mixed Grill challenge for thirty dollars.
The usual country pub dining areas though I didn't see any outside dining areas.
This hotel is under new management, while it was much quieter than the other pub i got the sense that it might liven up a bit at times
